Here we will talk about Team India’s New Coach who is no one other than Gautam Gambhir himself. We will discuss a bit of his personal life and more of his professional life. His professional life will include his career as a cricketer, achievements, and the greatest moments of his life, which will be related to his professional life as a cricketer.  

Personal life of Gautam Gambhir  

He used to live with his family of mother, father, and a younger sister and is quite close to his family keeping them far away from media and audience. He got married in 2011, to Natasha Jain, the daughter of a businessman from Delhi in a very private ceremony, the couple welcomed two daughters named Aazeen and Anaiza. 

Gautam Gambhir prefers to stay a low life away from all the press, media, and social media coverage making his family live in peace. Meanwhile, he himself being such a big celebrity can’t just stay away from all this press coverage, instead, he has to remain in the limelight for the audience, not by his choice but mostly because of his actions and the charity that he does on a regular basis. 

Apart from being a superstar cricketer, he is also a politician, he started his political career by debuting with the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2019. He stood up in the election from East Delhi through the post of a Member of Parliament (MP) and the results of the election from East Delhi were exceptionally good.  

Gautam Gambhir’s Cricket Career 4 

Developing interest at an early age of 10 years, Gautam Gambhir debuted in ODI cricket in April 2003 which was against Bangladesh. While being on the field for matches he played 147 ODI matches and scored 5,238 runs with an average of 39.8 and has had 11 centuries in total for the ODIs.  

One of the most historic moments was during the ICC Cricket World Cup Finals in 2011, it was the time when he scored a very important almost century which was 97 runs against Sri Lanka, and became one of the main reasons for India’s win of World Cup 2011. 

Talking about the T20, it was in 2007 when Gautam Gambhir was the most crucial player once again in in ICC T20 World Cup where he scored 75 runs while playing for 54 balls only.  

As an IPL player, he served as the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2011 to 2017. During his captainship Kolkata Knight Riders won the Title of Champions for IPL for two times during the years 2012 and 2014. 

Even after a short term of play in IPL as a player, he still remains on the list of one of the top scorers having a record of 4217 runs in just 154 matches only.  

Awards and Achievements of Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir’s Retirement 

Starting to develop his interest in cricket at the age of 10 years he took retirement from each and every form of Cricket in the year 2018, which concluded in his total years, that he played official cricket for 15 years.  

Gautam Gambhir Appointed as New Coach for Team India 

In July 2024 Gautam Gambhir was appointed as the new coach for Men’s Team India by the Cricket Advisory Committee this committee includes great personalities like Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Prajapati, and Sulakshana Naik, and they all strongly suggested and voted for Gautam Gambhir to be selected as team India’s new coach. 

Prior to him, it was Rahul Dravid who was serving in the post of Team India for men. He was chosen to be the new coach for the men’s team India as he possesses those qualities already which are like, which he already has served as the mentor for star teams like, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants. Along with this, he has already proven himself to be the best guy for the World Cup as it is the main focus and get-to-going kind of task that every Indian team does by acting on his guts and proving to be useful for his team. 

He has been the World Cup star since the very start and it is still the same. After being appointed as the coach for the Team India Men, he genuinely expressed his enjoyment and pleasure. He said that he was extremely glad that he got a chance to serve his country even after retiring from all forms of cricket.
